Birth records for their children have been located in the parish records of Rheinbischofsheim which include people living in Holzhausen: (1) Maria Elisabetha, born in Rheinbischofsheim, baptized 31 December 1745; (2) Johann Michael Weldi, born 13 January 1756 in Holzhausen, baptized 14 January 1756; (3) Sophia Dorothea, born 10 May 1759 in Holzhausen, baptized 12 May 1759; and (4) Johann Georg, born 30 December 1765 in Holzhausen, baptized 31 December 1765.
Christian Weldi, his wife Maria, and children (Michael, age 13; Sophia, age 8) arrived from Lübeck at the port of Oranienbaum on 18 July 1766 on a Russian packet-boat named Svyatoi Nikolai (St. Nicholas) under the command of Midshipman Thomas McKenzie.
Christian Weldi, his wife Elisabeth, and daughter Sophia (age 10) are recorded on the 1767 census of Dietel in Household No. 14. They had settled in Dietel on 1 July 1767.
They 1767 census records that Christian Weldi came from the German village of Holzhausen in the region of Darmstadt.
There are no known surviving male lines of this family among the Volga German colonies.
