Jean Baptist Wiong was born in approximately 1786 in the village of Ninhof [sic] in the region of Brabant. He was a craftsman.
He served as a soldier in the 56th Infantry Regiment of Napoleon's Army. He fought against the Russians and was captured.
Milovidov records that as of 1814 his brother and five sisters were still living in the village of Ninhof [sic].
He is recorded on the 1834 census of Nieder-Monjou in Household No. 117 along with a note that he relocated to the colony of Katharinenstadt in 1822.
He is recorded on the 1834 census of Katharinenstadt in Household No. 219.
He is not recorded on the 1857 census of Katharinenstadt, so is presumed to have died before 1850.
Milovidov records that Jean Baptist Wiong came from the village of Ninhof [sic] in Brabant. Brabant is a region of The Netherlands. The village may be Nijhoven, a hamlet located just east of the town of Baarle-Nassau in the Dutch Province of North Brabant.
