Nicolaus Rupp, son of Valentin Rupp, was baptized 19 February 1730 at the Catholic church in Hofheim. Nicolaus married there on 27 February 1764 to Maria Anna Hebeler, daughter of Johannes & Anna Dorothea Hebeler. The baptism of one child is recorded in the Hofheim parish register: Anna Margaretha, baptized 6 July 1765.
Nikolaus Rupp, his wife Anna, and daughter Anna (age 1) arrived from Lübeck at the port of Oranienbaum on 13 September 1766 aboard a ship with Skipper Johann Grapp at the helm.
Nicolaus Rupp, his wife Anna, and daughter Anna (age 2¼) are recorded on the list of colonists being transported from St. Petersburg to Saratov in 1767 along with a note that wife Anna died en route.
Nikolaus Rupp and his [new] wife Anna Margaretha, widow of Johannes Herrmann, are recorded on the 1767 census of Rothammel in Household No. 23 along with his stepson Johannes Herrmann (age 16). They had settled in Rothammel on 21 August 1767.
Nikolaus Rupp and his family are recorded on the 1798 census of Rothammel in Household No. Rt24.
The death of Nikolaus Rupp in 1808 is recorded on the 1811 census of Rothammel in Household No. 24.
The 1767 census records that Nikolaus Rupp came from the German village of Hofheim in the region of Worms.
There are no known surviving male lines of this Rupp family among the Volga German colonies.
