Just Schmidt, a farmer, his wife Maria, and children (Peter, age 11; Johanna, age 9) are recorded on the 1767 census of Nieder-Monjou in Household No. 45. They had settled there on 3 August 1767.

Johann Just Schmidt and his family are recorded on the 1798 census of Nieder-Monjou in Household No. Nm46.

The 1767 census records that Just Schmidt came from the German village of Biskirchen near Braunfels.
