Hermann Brückmann, a weaver (Weber), his wife Anna Margaretha, and son Johann Gottlieb (age 2) are recorded on the 1767 census of Merkel in Household No. 7. They had settled there on 28 August 1766.
Egidius (Gottlieb) Briegemann and his family are recorded on the 1798 census of Merkel in Household No. Mr14.
The death of Egidius Briegemann in 1821 is recorded on the 1834 census of Merkel in Household No. 82 along with a note that his surviving son, Johann Jakob Briegemann, relocated to Franzosen in 1828.
The 1767 census records that Hermann Brückmann came from the German district of Hamburg.
