The death of Daniel Specht in 1816 is recorded on the 1834 census of Merkel in Household No. 8.

Johann Daniel Specht from Merkel and his family are recorded on the 1857 census of Friedenfeld.

Johann Georg Specht from Merkel and his family are recorded on the 1857 census of Ährenfeld.

The 1767 census records that Johann Daniel Specht came from the German town of Altstein in Pommern (Pomerania).
