Georg Mai, son of Johann Ludwig & Anna Elisabeth Mai was born 19 February 1750 in Alsfeld.
Georg Mai, a single farmer, settled in the Volga German colony of Moor on 18 June 1767. He is recorded there on the 1767 census in Household No. 63 with a note that he relocated to the neighboring colony of Schilling in 1768.
Johann Georg Mai, his wife Elisabeth, and their daughters (Katharina, age 4½; Louisa, age 1) are recorded on the 1775 census of the Volga German colony of Schilling in Household No. 78.
Georg Mai, his [new] wife, and daughters are recorded on the 1798 census of Schilling in Household No. Sg086.
The 1767 census records that Georg Mai came from the German district of Isenburg.
There are no known surviving male lines of this Mai family among the Volga German colonies.
