Widower Johann Stieglitz, a gloves maker, and his son Christian arrived from Lübeck at the port of Oranienbaum on 22 August 1766 aboard a galliot named Die Vergoldete Weintraube (The Guilded Grape) under the command of Skipper Joachim Hermann Andersen.
They settled in the Volga German colony of Hussenbach where Christian is recorded on the 1798 census in Household No. Hs067.
The Oranienbaum passenger list records that Johann Stieglitz came from the German region of Sachsen (Saxony).
