There are two Kanzler families that arrived from Lübeck at the port of Oranienbaum on 9 June 1766 aboard a ship named Die Perle under the command of Skipper Gerhardt Hermann Thomsen. Their relationship to each other, if any, needs further research.
(1) Friedrich Kanzler, a single hunter (Jäger), arrived in Oranienbaum.
(2) Solomon Kanzler, a farmer, his wife Anna, and children (Karl, age 10¼; Anna, age 8; Georg, age ½) arrived in Oranienbaum.
They settled in the Volga German colony of Kolb on 13 May 1767 and are recorded there on the 1767 census in Household No. 5.
The Oranienbaum passenger list records that both of these Kanzler families came from the German region of Altmark. The 1767 census records that Solomon Kanzler came from the German village of Sandau in the region of Brandenburg.
