Gottfried Samuel Mehlhorn, a craftsman (Handwerker), and his wife Theresia settled in the Volga German colony of Reinhard on 15 July 1766 and are recorded there on the 1767 census in Household No. 6.
The 1798 census of Reinhard (Rh24) records that Friedrich Mehlhorn from Reinhard is working in Katharinenstadt.
The 1767 census records that Gottfried Samuel Mehlhorn came from the German village of Auerbach in the region of Sachsen (Saxony).
There are no known surviving male lines of this family among the Volga German colonies.
