Johann Gottlieb Krause & Sophia Friederike Schröter were married on 10 April 1766 in Roßlau.
Christina died, and Gottlieb remarried to Friederika. They settled in the Volga German colony of Orlovskaya on 7 June 1767 and are recorded there on the 1767 census in Household No. 31.
J. Karl Kraus and his family are recorded on an 1865 list of colonists who resettled to Lilienfeld along with a note that they arrived in Lilienfeld from Orlovskaya on 7 March 1859.
The 1767 census records that Gottlieb Kraus came from the German region of Zerbst.
