Christian Esterob, a single farmer, arrived from Lübeck at the port of Oranienbaum on 25 July 1766 aboard the snow-brig named Maria Sophia under the command of Skipper Johann Bauert.
Christian Ostrop [sic] is recorded on the list of colonists being transported from St. Petersburg to Saratov in 1767.
They settled in the Volga German colony of Stahl am Tarlyk on 19 August 1767 and are recorded there on the 1767 census in Household No. 74.
The Oranienbaum passenger list records that Christian Esterob was a farmer from Danzig while the 1767 census records that he was a barrel maker (Fassbinder) from the Danish village of Estrup.
There are no known surviving male lines of this family among the Volga German colonies.
