Discussion & Documentation

Asmus Follert, a farmer, and his wife Wiebke arrived from Lübeck at the port of Oranienbaum on 29 May 1766 aboard a galliot named Adler (Eagle) under the command of the Skipper Paul Adolph Drath.

Asmus Follert, a farmer, and his wife Wiebke are recorded on the 1767 census of Dinkel in Household No. 43. They had arrived in Dinkel on 27 July 1767.

The Oranienbaum passenger list records that Asmus Follert came from the German region of Holstein. The 1767 census records that Asmus Weller came from the German village of Schönberg in the region of Mecklenburg.

There are no known surviving male lines of this Weller family among the Volga German colonies.
