Michael Weinert, a single furrier, arrived from Lübeck at the port of Oranienbaum on 21 July 1766 aboard the snow-brig Mercurius under the command of Skipper Christian Heinrich Abelßen.
He settled in the Volga German colony of Urbach on 13 July 1767 and is recorded there on the 1767 census in Household No. 14 along with his new wife, Maria, and her son Georg Pflaum.
The Oranienbaum passenger list and the 1767 census record that Michael Weinert came from the German region of Anhalt Zerbst.
