An article by Hermann Wäschke records the following going to Russia:
(unnamed) Wede, a court bailiff (Gerichtsdiener), with wife and 3 children, from Fraszdorf in the district of Dessau.
Christoph Wede, a farmer, his wife Katharina, and sons (Karl, age 17½; Christoph, age 15) arrived from Lübeck at the port of Oranienbaum on 4 July 1766 aboard the English frigate Love & Unity under the command of Skipper Thomas Fairfax.
Christoph Weede [sic], his wife Anna Catha., and children (Carl, age 17; Christoph, age 15; Georg, age 2; Margaretha [age not recorded]) are recorded on the list of colonists being transported from St. Petersburg to Saratov in 1767 along with a note that son Georg died en route.
They settled in the Volga German colony of Paulskaya on 7 July 1767 and are recorded there on the 1767 census in Household No. 31.
In 1785, Karl Wede ran away from Paulskaya after he shot his wife.
In 1790, Gottfried Wede moved from Paulskaya to Krasnoyar.
The 1767 census records that Christoph Wede came from the German village of Fraßdorf in the region of Dessau.
