Giovanni Battista Castiglioni, son of Guiseppe Castiglioni, married on 24 January 1787 in Santa Cecilia Catholic Church in Parma to Cecilia Gibertini, daughter of Capitano Mauro Antonio Gibertini & Lucia Beccanti. Cecilia Gibertini had been born 26 January 1768 in Parma and baptised that same day in the Baptistery of the Parma Cathedral.
The baptisms of two children born to Giovanni Battista Castiglioni & Cecilia Gibertini are recorded the parish register of the Baptistery of the Parma Cathedral: (1) Guiseppe Antonio Pellegrino Mauro, born 29 May 1787, baptized 31 May 1787; and (2) Luigia Maria Antonia Bailia, born & baptized 12 April 1789.
Cecilia Castiglioni née Gibertini died, and Giovanni Battista Castiglioni remarried on 17 August 1796 in Santa Cecilia Catholic Church to Dorotea Maria Gibertini, sister of his first wife. She had been born 8 March 1772 and baptized 4 August 1772 in the Baptistery of the Parma Cathedral.

Guiseppe Antonio Pellegrino Mauro Castiglioni served in Napoleon's army and fought against the Russians. He served in Napoleon's Italian Guard as a private.
He was captured by the Russians, and in 1812, was settled in the Volga German colony of Katharinenstadt.
Milovidov records that as of 1814 his father, mother, two brothers, and a sister were still living in the Italian city of Milan.
Among the Volga German colonies, he went by the German name of Joseph Castillion.
Joseph Castillion married on 17 November 1814 to Christina Elisabeth Windschuh, daughter of Peter Gottfried Windschuh.
He is recorded there on the 1834 census of Katharinenstadt in Household No. 340 along with a note that he had moved to the colony of Wittmann in 1822.
Joseph Castillion and his family are recorded on the 1834 census of Wittmann in Household No. 47.
Joseph Castillion died 31 July 1844 in Wittmann.
