Discussion & Documentation

Andreas Kost was born in approximately 1784 in Magdeburg. He was a craftsman.

He served as a soldier in the 2nd Infantry Regiment of Napoleon's Army. He fought against the Russians and was captured.

He was settled in the Volga German colony of Grimm.

He is recorded there on the 1834 census of Grimm in Household No. 312.

He does not appear on the 1857 census of Grimm, so is assumed to have died there before 1850.

Milovidov records that Andreas Kost came from the town of Magdeburg in the German region of Westfalen.
