Matthias Haale, a farmer, and his family settled in the Volga German colony of Chasselois on 2 August 1766. They are recorded there on the 1767 census in Household No. 38.
It appears that following the destruction of Chasselois, the Halle family relocated to the colony of Graf.
In 1787, Peter Haale moved from Graf to Louis.
The 1798 census records the widow of Matthias Haale in the colony of Mariental (Household No. Mt79) along with their son Jakob.
The 1767 census records that Matthias Haale came from the German village of Willbach in the Kurmainz region.
