Discussion & Documentation

Anton Bader, a stonemason, his wife Elisabeth, and sons (Joseph, age 10; Johann, age 5; Georg, age 2½) arrived from Lübeck at the port of Oranienbaum on 12 September 1766 aboard an English frigate under the command of Skipper Adam Beerfeier.

Anthon Bader, his wife Elisabeth, and sons (Joseph, age 10¼; Anthon, age 5¼; Georg Anthon, age 1½) are recorded on the list of colonists being transported from St. Petersburg to Saratov in 1767 along with a note that father Anthon and son Anthon both died en route.

In 1791, [Georg] Anton Bader moved from Susannental to Graf.

The 1798 census records Anton's descendants on the Susannental census in Household No. Ss16 and Graf census in Household No. Gf20.

The Oranienbaum passenger list records that Anton Bader came from the German region of Hessen.
