The parish register of the Reformed Church of Saints Peter & Paul in Danzig records that Johann Adam Beckel from the Pfalz & Juliana Becker from the Pfalz were married on 2 June 1765 in Danzig.

Adam Beckel, a farmer, and his wife Maria Helena settled in the Volga German colony of Messer on 7 July 1766 and are recorded there on the 1767 census in Household No. 22.

The 1767 census records that Adam Beckel came from the German district of the Kurpfalz.
