Georg Friedrich Benedikt and his wife Margaretha Katharina arrived from Lübeck at the port of Oranienbaum on 4 July 1766 aboard the ship Die Neue Freiheit von Bremen under the command of Skipper Steingrawer.
They settled in the Volga German colony of Laub on 12 July 1767 and are recorded there on the 1767 census in Household No. 24.
The Oranienbaum passenger list records that Georg Friedrich Benedikt was a teacher while the 1767 census records that he was a farmer.
The 1767 census records that Georg Friedrich Benedikt came from the German village of Vollerwiek in the Holstein region.
There are no known surviving male lines of this Benedikt family among the Volga German colonies.
