Peter Zimmermann, a farmer, his wife Margaretha, and son Friedrich (age 2½) arrived from Lübeck at the port of Oranienbaum on 4 July 1766 aboard the English frigate Love & Unity under the command of Skipper Thomas Fairfax.
Peter Zimmermann, his wife Margaretha, and son Fridrich (age 2½) are recorded on the list of colonists being transported from St. Petersburg to Saratov in 1767.
They settled in the Volga German colony of Orlovskaya on 1 August 1767 and are recorded there on the 1767 census in Household No. 38.
In 1791, Peter Zimmermann and his family moved from Orlovskaya to Ober-Monjou.
In 1793, Friedrich and Michael Zimmermann moved from Ober-Monjou to Schönchen.
Both the Oranienbaum passenger list and the 1767 census record that Peter Zimmermann came from the German region of Bamberg.
