Johann Foos, a farmer, and his wife Elisabeth settled in the Volga German colony of Dobrinka on 15 April 1765. They are recorded there on the 1767 census in Household No. 42.
Widow Sophia Elisabeth Foos, her daughter, and daughter's family are recorded on the 1798 census of Dobrinka in Household No. Db15.
The 1767 census records that Johann Foos came from the German village of Babke in the Mecklenburg region.
There are no known surviving male lines of this Foos family among the Volga German colonies.
