Joachim Schielberg, a farmer, and his family arrived from Lübeck at the port of Oranienbaum on 8 August 1766 aboard the Danish galliot Der Engel Rafael under the command of Skipper Ehlert Kongsted.

They settled in the Volga German colony of Jost on 5 July 1767 and are recorded there on the 1767 census in Household No. 28.

Both the Oranienbaum passenger list and the 1767 census record that Joachim Schielberg came from the German region of Mecklenburg.

There are no known surviving male lines of this family among the Volga German colonies.
