Johann Rottenheiser, a farmer, and his family arrived from Lübeck at the port of Oranienbaum on 4 July 1766 aboard the ship Der Jager under the command of Skipper Gabriel Wild.
They settled in the Volga German colony of Lauwe but have not been located on the 1767 census there. Son Johann Heinrich Rottenheiser is recorded on the 1798 census in Lauwe in Household No. Lw17.
The Oranienbaum passenger list records that Johann Rottenheiser came from the German region of Darmstadt.
