Johann Büge, a farmer, settled in the Volga German colony of Dobrinka on 29 June 1764. He is recorded there on the 1767 census in Household No. 18 as a widower along with his son Karl Johann (age 2½).
Johannes Bieg and his family are recorded on the 1798 census of Dobrinka in Household No. Db17 where he is identified as a stepson of Georg Ashlef.
The 1767 census records that Johann Büge came from the German village of Mitau in the Kurland region [today Latvia].
There do not appear to be any surviving male descendants of this family among the Volga German colonies.
