Lorenz Kraus, a mercinary soldier (Husar), and his family settled in the Volga German colony of Fischer on 28 July 1765 and are recorded there on the 1767 census in Household No. 3.

In 1790, Lorenz Kraus and his family moved from Fischer to Rosenheim.

The 1767 census does not record from where Lorenz Kraus came ["erinnert sich nicht mehr an seinen Geburtsort" - he no longer remembers his birthplace].
