Hartmann Holtzmann & Friederique Schultze were married on 22 June 1766 in Roßlau.
Hartmann Holzmann and his family arrived from Lübeck at the port of Oranienbaum on 15 September 1766 aboard the galliot Adler under the command of Skipper Paul Adam Drath.
They settled in the Volga German colony of Stahl am Tarlyk on 19 August 1767 and are recorded there on the 1767 census in Household No. 62.
The Oranienbaum passenger list records that Hartmann Holzmann was a farmer while the 1767 census records that he was a blacksmith (Schmied).
The 1767 census records that Hartmann Holzmann came from the German village of Marburg in the Hessen-Kassel region.
