Two Lechner families arrived from Lübeck at the port of Oranienbaum on 19 July 1766 aboard a pink named Новая Двинка (New Dvinka [a river in Russia]) under the command of Lieutenant Ivan Perepechin. Their relationship to each other, if any, needs additional research.
(1) Johann Lech[n]er, single servant of Nikolaus Klein, arrived in Oranienbaum.
He settled in the Volga German colony of Köhler on 21 August 1767 and is recorded there on the 1767 census in Household No. 64 along with his new wife Magdalena Ganz and her son Andreas (surname not recorded).
In 1788, widower Johann Lechner moved from Köhler to Volmer.
(2) Barbara Lech[n]er, a single woman, arrived in Oranienbaum.
It is not known what happened to her after arrival in Russia.
Both the Oranienbaum passenger list records that both Johann and Barbara Lechner came from the German region of Würzburg. The 1767 census record that Johann Lechner came from the German region of Würzburg.
