Simon Hofstätter, a farmer, and his family settled in the Volga German colony of Herzog on 14 July 1766. They are recorded there on the 1767 census in Household No. 31.
The 1798 census of Graf records Andreas Hoffstätter from Herzog in Household No. Gf39. His former wife is recorded there in Household No. Gf05.
The 1767 census records that Simon Hofstätter came from the German region of Regensburg.
