Discussion & Documentation

Joseph Schlotter and his wife Katharina arrived from Lübeck at the port of Oranienbaum on 12 September 1766 aboard an English frigate under the command of Skipper Adam Beerfeier.

Joseph Schloder [sic] and his wife Cathrina [sic] are recorded on the list of colonists being transported from St. Petersburg to Saratov in 1767.

Joseph Schlotter and his wife are recorded on an appendix to the 1767 census of Boisroux (No. 9).

In 1792, Johann Schlotter moved from Wittmann to Ober-Monjou.

The Oranienbaum passenger list records that Joseph Schlotter was a farmer from the German region of Bayern (Bavaria). The 1767 census records that he was a cobbler (Schuhmacher) from the village of Braun/Bsern [?].
