Beren (Göbel)
Ludwig Beren and his wife Barbara arrived from Lübeck at the port of Oranienbaum on 4 July 1766 aboard the galliot Die Fortuna under the command of Skipper Peter Stahl.
They settled in the Volga German colony of Göbel on 20 June 1767 and are recorded there on the 1767 census in Household No. 23.
In 1788, Johannes Beren moved from Göbel to Leichtling.
The Oranienbaum passenger list records that Ludwig Beren was a farmer from the Netherlands while the 1767 census records that he was a craftsman (Handwerker) from the village of Liège.
