Johann Georg Zier married Margaretha Wolf on 24 June 1765 in Roßlau.
They immigrated to Russia and settled in the Volga German colony of Dietel.
[Johann Zieger [sic], a single farmer, arrived from Lübeck at the port of Oranienbaum on 16 August 1766 aboard a snow-brig named Neptunus (Neptune) under the command of Skipper Johann Graap. He is traveling with several families that settled in Dietel and is believed to be the same person as Johann Georg Zier above.]
Georg Zier and his family are recorded on the 1798 census of Dietel in Household No. Dt60.
