Jakob Müller, a soldier (Soldat), and his family settled in the Volga German colony of Graf on 22 June 1767. He is recorded there on the 1767 census in Household No. 45 along with his wfe Anna Margaretha, son Johann (age 13), and stepson Johann Heinrich (age 16) [surname not recorded].
The 1767 census records that Jakob Müller came from the German village of Alzey in the Kurpfalz.
