Discussion & Documentation

Franz Märker, a farmer, and his family settled in the Volga German colony of Graf on 10 June 1766. He is recorded there on the 1767 census in Household No. 2 along with his wife Margaretha, and son (probably from an earlier marriage) Christoph (age 12).

The 1767 census records that Franz Märker came from the German region of Würzburg.
