Mathias Tisch, a tailor (Schneider), settled in the Volga German colony of Kamenka on 27 May 1766. He is recorded there on the 1767 census in Household No. 53 along with new wife, Katharina.
The 1767 census records that Mathias Tisch came from the German region of Freiburg.
There are no known surviving male lines of this Tisch family among the Volga German colonies.
