Widow Elisabeth Völker and her sons (Johann, age 24; Valentin, age 20; Jakob, age 18) arrived from Lübeck at the port of Oranienbaum on 8 August 1766 aboard the galliot Anna Katharina under the command of Skipper Johann Joachim Janson.
Elisabeth Völcker [sic] and her sons (Georg, age 24; Jakob, age 20; Valentin, age 18) are recorded on the list of colonists being transported from Oranienbaum to Saratov along with a note that Elisabeth died during the journey.
Sons Jakob and Georg are recorded in Household No. 83 on a list of colonists recruited by Beauregard that is included with the 1767 census. Jakob is recorded there along with his new wife Gertrude, the widow of Heinrich von der Au, with whom he had been traveling from Oranienbaum to Saratov. Son Georg is recorded on the 1798 census of Luzern in Household No. Lz27.
The Oranienbaum passenger list records that Elisabeth Völker came from the German region of Hanau. The 1767 census records that Jakob Völker and his brother Georg came from the German village of Bieber in the Hanau region.
