The Büdingen marriage register records marriage of Johannes Geist from Reppeshain [Rebgeshain] & Anna Catharina Schmidt from Kirtorff [sic] on 15 May 1766.

Johann Heinrich Geist, a farmer, and his wife [Anna] Katharina arrived from Lübeck at the port of Oranienbaum on 29 July 1766 aboard the ship Apollo under the command of Skipper Friedrich Detloff Mörenberg.

They settled in the Volga German colony of Müller on 16 August 1767 and are recorded there on the 1767 census in Household No. 36.

Magdalena Moor née Geist (age 31) and her brother Johann Konrad Geist (age 26) are recorded on the 1798 census of Müller in Household No. Ml31 along with a note that Johann Konrad Geist is working in the colony of Dreispitz.

[Johann] Konrad Geist from Müller is recorded on the 1811 census of Nieder-Monjou in Household No. 51.

Johann Wilhelm Geist, presumed son of Johann Heinrich Geist, moved from the colony of Müller to Kraft in 1798. He is recorded on the 1798 census of Kraft in Household No. Kf19.

Wilhelm Geist and his family are recorded on the 1834 census of Kraft in Household No. 16.

The death of Wilhelm Geist in 1844 is recorded on the 1850 census of Kraft in Household No. 23.

The descendants of Wilhelm Geist are recorded on the 1857 census of Kraft in Households No. 29 & 30.

The Oranienbaum passenger list records that Johann Heinrich Geist came from the German region of Isenburg. The 1767 census records that he came from the German village of Reinheim.
