Adam Schamber, a farmer, and his wife Katharina arrived from Lübeck at the port in Oranienbaum on 17 July 1766 aboard a pink named Lev (Lion) under the command of Lieutenant Fyodor Fyodorov.

They are recorded on the 1775 census of Grimm in Household No. 101.
Both the Oranienbaum passenger list and the 1767 census record that Adam Schamber came from the German region of Darmstadt.
There are no known surviving male lines of this Schamber family among the Volga German colonies.
