Zacharias Wiedenhammer, a weaver (Leineweber), and his wife Maria arrived from Lübeck at the port of Oranienbaum on 9 June 1766 aboard an English barque named George under the command of Skipper Adam Bairnsfair along with his mother-in-law Maria [Werner].
Zacharias Weydenhammer [sic] and his wife Maria are recorded on the list of colonists being transported from St. Petersburg to Saratov in 1767.
Zacharias Weidenhammer, a carpenter (Zimmermann), and his wife Maria settled in the Volga German colony of Paulskaya on 7 July 1767 and are recorded there on the 1767 census in Household No. 33 along with his widowed mother-in-law Maria Werner (age 58).
Zacharias Weidenhammer (age 35), a cobbler (Schuster), his wife Maria Dorothea [maiden name not recorded] (age 31); and children (Johann Gottlieb, age 7; Friederika, age 4; Johann Philipp, age ½) are recorded on the 1776 Katharinenstadt Grundbuch [Land Register] in Household No. 116 along with a note that Zacharias remarried 29 May 1778 to Elisabeth née Bischof and son Johann Gottfried (born 10 September 1779).
Zacharias Weidenhammer from Paulskaya and his family are recorded on the 1798 census of Katharinenstadt in Household No. Ka113.
Both the Oranienbaum passenger list and the 1767 census record that Zacharias Weidenhammer came from the German city of Leipzig. The 1776 Katharinenstadt Land Register records that Zacharias Weidenhammer came from Klepzig bei Leipzig in the German region of Sachsen (Saxony) and that his wife (Maria Dorothea) came from the German town of Oranienbaum in the region of Anhalt-Dessau.
