Anna Mehl, a widowed farmer, and her daughter Anna (age 8½) arrived from Lübeck at the port of Oranienbaum on 9 June 1766 aboard an English frigate named Love & Unity under the command of Skipper Thomas Fairfax.
Katharina Mihl [sic], widow of an unnamed farmer, and her daughter Sabina (age 10) are recorded on the 1767 census of Dobrinka in Household No. 93. They had settled there on 20 June 1767.
The Oranienbaum passenger list records that Anna Mehl came from the German region of Erbach. The 1767 census records that Katharina Mihl came from the German village of Reit [?] in the Braunfels region.
There are no known surviving male lines of this Mehl family among the Volga German colonies.
