Johann Werth, a farmer, his wife Elisabeth, and daughters (Julianna, age 8; Anna, age 1¼) arrived from Lübeck at the port of Oranienbaum on 19 July 1766 aboard a ship named Die Zwei Gebrüder (The Two Brothers) under the command of Skipper Nicolaus Peter Pinck.
Johannes Wirth [sic], his wife Elis., and daughters (Juliana, age 3; Anna Marg., age 2; Anna Cath. [newly born] are recorded on a list of colonists being transported from St. Petersburg to Saratov in 1767 along with a note that the newborn died in route.
Widower Johann Werth, a farmer, and his daughters (Julianna, age 12; Margaretha, age 3) are recorded on the 1767 census of Nieder-Monjou in Household No. 70. They had settled there on 3 August 1767.
The Oranienbaum passenger list records that Johann Werth came from the German region of Burg. The 1767 census records that Johann Werth came from the German village of Breitenbach.
There are no known surviving male lines of this Werth family among the Volga German colonies.
