There are two Werth families that arrived from Lübeck at the port of Oranienbaum on 19 July 1766 aboard a galliot named Frau Catharina under the command of Skipper Johann Joachim Jenßen. Their relationship to each other, if any, needs further research.
(1) Johannes Lorey, a farmer, his wife Anna, and [step-]daughter Magdalena [Werth] (age 15) arrived in Oranienbaum.
Johann[es] Lorey, his wife Anna Utilia, and [step-]daughter Anna Magdalena [Werth] (age 12½) are recorded on a list of colonists being transported from St. Petersburg to Saratov in 1767.
Widower Johannes Lorey, a farmer, is recorded on the 1767 census of Nieder-Monjou in Household No. 91. He had arrived in Nieder-Monjou on 3 August 1767.
Orphan Magdalena Werth (age 16) is recorded on the 1767 census of Nieder-Monjou in Household No. 92.
The 1767 census records that Magdalena Werth came from the German region of Isenburg.
(2) Anna Werd [sic], a single woman, arrived in Oranienbaum.
Anna Werd [sic] is recorded on a list of colonists being transported from St. Petersburg to Saratov in 1767.
The Oranienbaum passenger list records that Anna Werd [sic] came from the German region of Isenburg.
There are no known surviving male lines of this Werth family among the Volga German colonies.
