Klaus Kney [sic], a single tailor (Schneider), arrived from Lübeck at the port of Oranienbaum on 19 July 1766 aboard a galliot named Frau Catharina under the command of Skipper Johann Joachim Jenßen.
Nikolaus Knecker, a single weaver (Schneider), is recorded on an appendix to the 1767 census of Paulskaya in Household No. 68 along with a note that he relocated to the colony of Biberstein in 1768.
Both the Oranienbaum passenger list and the 1767 census record that Nikolaus Knecker came from the German region of Bamberg.
There are no known surviving male lines of this Knecker family among the Volga German colonies.
