Paul Nordhauer, a beer brewer (Bierbrauer), his wife Anna Maria, and daughter Maria Anna (age 11) are recorded on the 1767 census of Stahl am Tarlyk in Household No. 47. They had settled there on 19 August 1767.

The 1767 census records that Paul Nordhauer came from the Danish village of Riepen.

There are no known surviving male lines of this family among the Volga German colonies.
