Sören Bahr, a farmer, and his wife Margaretha arrived from Lübeck at the port of Oranienbaum on 11 June 1766 aboard a ship named Der Junge Heinrich (The Young Henry) under the command of Skipper Heinrich Niemann.
Sörent [sic] Bahr and his unnamed wife are recorded on a list of colonists being transported from St. Petersburg to Saratov in 1767.
Serast Bahr, a farmer, his wife Margaretha, and son Serast (age 1) are recorded on the 1767 census of Stahl am Tarlyk in Household No. 4. They had settled there on 13 August 1767.
The Oranienbaum passenger list records that Sören Bahr came from the German region of Holstein. The 1767 census records that Serast Bahr came from the village of Weizersen [?] in the Grindlanos [?] region.
There are no known surviving male lines of this Bahr family among the Volga German colonies.
