Gottfried Jeremias Scheidt, a shopkeeper (Krämer), and his wife Anna Katharina settled in the Volga German colony of Stahl am Tarlyk on 13 September 1767. They are recorded there on the 1767 census in Household No. 52.

The 1767 census records that Gottfried Jeremias Scheidt came from the German town of Lübeck.

There are no known surviving male lines of this Scheidt family among the Volga German colonies.
