Jakob Jessen, a farmer, and his wife Anna Margaretha settled in the Volga German colony of Stahl am Tarlyk on 5 September 1767. They are recorded there on the 1767 census in Household No. 29.

The 1767 census records that Jakob Jessen came from the Danish village of Schlouchs [?].
