Johann Seibert, his wife Katharina, and children (Johannes, age 13; Anna, age 4; Elisabeth, age 1¼) arrived from Lübeck at the port of Oranienbaum on 15 September 1766 aboard a ship under the command of Skipper Franz Nikolaus Schröder.
Johann Seibert and his son Johann (age 13) are recorded on a list of colonists being transported from St. Petersburg to Saratov in 1767.
This family may have settled in the colony of Biberstein because a number of other families with whom they were traveling settled there.
Daniel Seibert (age 22) is recorded on the 1798 census of Biberstein in Household No. Bb37 living with the Ludwig Schwartz family. [Daniel Seibert may be the son of Johann Seibert (age 13) above.]
Daniel Seibert and his descendants are recorded on the 1834 census of Biberstein in Household No. 35.
Some translations record this surname as Seibel.
The Oranienbaum passenger list does not record from where Johann Seibert came.
