Discussion & Documentation

There are two Fries families from Hummel recorded on the 1798 census of Basel. They are presumed to be brothers, but further research is necessary to confirm this.

(1) In 1785, Leonhard Fries moved from Hummel to Basel. Leonhard Fries and his family are recorded on the 1798 census of Basel in Household No. Bs03.

(2) Christian Fries from Hummel and his family are recorded on the 1798 census of Basel in Household No. Bs15.
